Lemon juice is injected into irrigation water to treat clogging caused by calcium carbonate (lime) and magnesium precipitation. Water with a pH of 7.5 or higher and a bicarbonate level of more than 100 ppm will likely present lime precipitation problems, depending on water hardness. The amount of calcium and magnesium determines this hardness. DOSAGE pH correction: The amount of acid to be used depends on the chemical characteristics of the irrigation water, so a pH meter must be used throughout the process until the desired level is achieved, always measuring it at the ends of the hose.
