The silencer is always most effective when installed next to the extractor. When noise is a serious problem, 2 silencers can be installed in-line. Silencers should be installed with soundproof flexible ducting (Sonoconnect) for greater effectiveness, as they are also flexible and allow installation almost anywhere. They significantly reduce noise emitted by extractors by up to 28 dB.
