As expected with our queen, we invested a lot of time and energy in her preparation. By the time she stepped into the spotlight, she had already been bred for several generations using genetics from original classic lines, and she did not disappoint when she arrived. Winner of the High Times Cannabis Cup award, Opium was an instant hit with growers.
The characteristics we channeled into Opium have created a strain with outstanding qualities. This plant grows strong, with a thick stem and bushy side branches. This gives it the tools to produce large, heavy buds, rich in trichomes.
For the indoor grower, it is a pleasure to work with (60 days flowering), this plant is resistant and versatile. It can be grown as a multi-branched plant, alone, or in a Sea Of Green cultivation, as it responds very well to training. Those who use hydroponic systems will achieve particularly impressive results, and hydro growers are big fans due to its easy handling.
Outdoors, Opium is another story. In a warm, sunny climate, it will grow more like a tree than a bush, which makes it particularly effective for farmers in the southern regions of France, Spain, and California.
Although it is a robust plant, its large buds might not be as reliable in the garden and in guerrilla plantings in northern areas, especially if autumn is wet in your area.
In addition to the majestic qualities it shows during its growth, Opium carries majesty through to its completion. When smoked, thanks to its Sativa heritage, it offers a quick take-off, while the Indica factor ensures that the intensity of the experience carries you properly through the landing. The dominant fragrance is fruit, and the taste is creamy. A bit like your favorite cocktail, you'll be back for more.
