As expected with our queen, we invested a lot of time and energy into her preparation. By the time she entered the spotlight, she had already been bred for several generations using the genetics of the original classic lines, and she did not disappoint when she arrived. Winner of the High Times Cannabis Cup award, Opium was an instant hit with growers.
The characteristics we channeled into Opium have created a strain with outstanding qualities. This plant grows strong, with a thick stem and bushy lateral branches. This gives it the tools to produce large, heavy, trichome-rich buds.
For the indoor grower, she is a pleasure to work with (60 days of flowering); this plant is resilient and versatile. She can be grown as a multi-branched plant, alone, or in a Sea Of Green grow, as she responds very well to training. Those using hydroponic systems will achieve particularly impressive results, and hydro growers are big fans due to her easy handling.
Outdoors, Opium is another story. In a warm, sunny climate, she will grow more like a tree than a bush, making her particularly effective for farmers in the southern regions of France, Spain, and California.
Although she is a robust plant, her large buds might not be as reliable in gardens and guerrilla grows in northern areas, especially if autumn is wet in your area.
In addition to the majestic qualities she displays during her growth, Opium carries that majesty through to her finish. When smoked, thanks to her Sativa heritage, she offers a quick takeoff, while the Indica factor ensures the intensity of the experience carries you smoothly through the landing. The dominant fragrance is fruit, and the flavor is creamy. Much like your favorite cocktail, you'll be back for more.
